Shaping Futures, part of the national UniConnect Programme, are funded by the Office for Students to support learners to make informed decisions about their future educational pathways. They work in partnership with 12 local providers of further and higher education to offer impartial information, advice and guidance, specifically targeted towards those who may face barriers in accessing outreach provision.
Shaping Futures are excited to launch their latest resource: Inclusive Transitions. This booklet has been developed in collaboration with their partnership, utilising the expertise of Student Support Teams and the lived experience of current higher education students with disabilities.
The resource is designed for learners aged 14+ to explore their options beyond school and to develop essential advocacy skills to support them to talk about their accessibility needs.
This is available as an online PDF, compatible with screen readers, and a physical booklet in both standard and large print. They have created accompanying resources including a Parents and Carers Guide and teaching materials including PowerPoint presentations.
