Ready Set, Thrive – Liverpool SEND PfA Event

A new Liverpool event, aimed at supporting young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) in their journey to adulthood, is taking place on Wednesday 22 October 4.00pm-7.00pm.

The Ready Set, Thrive – Adulthood Awaits: From School to Adulthood, Your Next Chapter event brings families, professionals and services together, to offer expert guidance, professional resources and presentations from a range of partners. The event will be held at the Atrium, Learning Exchange on Roscoe Street, Liverpool, L1 9DW and is led by Liverpool City Council, and aimed at secondary school children with SEND, specifically those in Year 9 and above, who are unsure of what their next steps could be or where to find advice and support.

From education and employment to independent travel training and supported employment providers; this event will give young people and parents the information they need for an easier journey.

 

Specialist presentations will also be held between from 5-6pm from key providers on the following:

  • 5pm: Choosing your options: What to consider – led by Liverpool City Council’s Special Educational Needs Information Support Service (SENISS)

 

Post 16 options: The curriculum offer, support and welfare available and how to apply, delivered by:

 

  • 5.10pm: Hugh Baird college
  • 5.20pm: City of Liverpool College
  • 5.30pm: Knowsley Community college
  • 5.40pm: Liverpool City Council Supported Internships – empowering young people with SEND to access to work opportunities,
  • 5.50pm: Liverpool City Council Independent Travel – Explaining the remit and referral process and principles to support safe independent travel.
